Jocara Newsletter August 31, 2005 At long last, after more than 13 months on our Indian Ocean Quest, Jocara has finally returned safely to her starting point in Singapore, tying up to her old berth at the RSYC at 22:25 on 30 August. It has not always been easy, far from it, but it has been immeasurably rewarding to have undertaken and experienced so much in so many countries and with so many people who have become new friends. It has been, in truth, an experience of a lifetime. We are also richly rewarded by having been able to contribute to young minds through our educational partners, to marine research by teaming up with local and international centres and to public awareness of the global marine ecological crisis. And now, it's time to return to 'normal' life, work and the usual concerns. But first we can party, and you are invited to join us at the RSYC on 1 Sept. from 18:00 onwards to celebrate life, friends and all that matters. Don't forget to register as our guests (John Potter, membership number P0154) at the front desk on the way in. Our website will be updated tomorrow to recount all the latest adventures, including becoming trapped in a Malaysian fishing net and other recent news, so don't forget to check in at http://www.jocara.net Thanks for being with us on this journey. There will be more to follow. John, Caro, Casper and Alex
