Jocara Newsletter

Jocara eased her way into the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club on the 24th 
August, tying up to a marina pontoon for the first time in over a year.  
Her crew are now enjoying the luxuries of a good night's sleep, fresh 
salads and real showers for a couple of days while organising refuelling 
(of both Jocara and her crew), laundry and the usual minor repairs.  The 
jury-rig mast and sails have served her well, adding several hundred miles 
to her range on diesel alone on the 1600 mile crossing from the Maldives.  

Tomorrow Jocara slips her lines and begins the final leg south to 
Singapore to finally bring her year-long odyssey to a close.

We will be holding an official homecoming event at the RSYC on the 
afternoon of the 1 Sept. to which our educational and research partners, 
sponsors and media will be invited.  Afterwards, we look forward to 
embracing all our friends in Singapore at a homecoming party, beginning 
18:00 at the RSYC.  All newsletter subscribers are warmly invited, we'd 
love to see you there.  Please remember that the RSYC is a members' club 
and so you must register at the front desk as our personal guest (our 
membership number is P0154).  You will be able to purchase food and drink 
by VISA card in the club, so come after work and have dinner, or stop by 
later for a drink to see Jocara and her crew.
