This is a Furuno 24-mile LCD. We have the radome on a mast mounted on the davits, 5m above the water. This is perhaps not enough, as we don't get returns from as far as 24 miles, even from islands.

This radar has a very good watchman feature that allows us to set a watch zone (in angle and range brackets) that wil sound an alarm if a contact is detected in the zone; very useful for night watches.

It is also very good at picking up squalls (from the rain scattered return) - giving warning of shifting and increasing winds and rain at night when they're hard to see.
